AUT’s School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our dedicated team. We are looking for a hard-working and adaptable individual who can support a range of tasks related to Mechanical Engineering, with a particular emphasis on providing excellent customer service. This is not a senior position but requires someone capable of working flexibly across multiple areas as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, configure, and demonstrate the use of mechanical lab equipment, including the Euler Buckling of a Column, Pin Jointed Frameworks, TH3 Saturation Pressure, and HT10XC Heat Transfer, to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical support in Mechanical Engineering, focusing on tribology, materials testing, surface roughness, fatigue testing, and related tasks.
  • Work closely with students, staff and external clients to support teaching and research activities, ensuring they receive a positive and memorable experience.
  • Enforce Health & Safety protocols in laboratory environments.
