Description:

Position
We have an exciting opportunity for a FAA Repairman to join our West Hartford, CT Team.
The FAA Repairman is a non-union working member of the FAA Repair Station charged to oversee, direct, assign, and approve the work of repair station staff. FAA Repairmen are selected for their technical skills and experience with due consideration for their ability to mentor people and accept responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all parts/components removed from a repair station unit is routed to the applicable assembly cell,

documented by a valid service and operation number, and the work scope is properly identified.

  • Inspect parts and components by obtaining and interpreting work cards, reviewing inspection requirements scope and detail, and completing visual inspections per IPC-A-610.
  • Ensure proper, approved technical data is used and available to the repair station staff.
  • Be responsible for her/his own work and the work of her/his assigned staff.
  • Be responsible for the proper work execution of part tags attached to repairable, serviceable, or condemned

parts. Also, responsible to assure that all serviceable tags are installed on components and properly annotated.

  • Ensure that the staff performs top quality work by continual monitoring and oversight.
  • Be responsible for managing existing process documentation, incorporating service bulletins, developing

new processes for component level repair, and reacting to CMM amendments.

  • Perform repair station outgoing requirements for return to service of parts including maintenance report

publication, inventory adjustments, component record card edits, confirmation of sales/purchase order

correctness and all final documentation issuance.

  • Ensure staff is qualified and that they use proper procedures, manual references, and proper tools in accomplishing assigned tasks. Perform on the job training, as required, and determine any additional training

needs.

  • Schedule and assign work to the staff.
  • Provide estimates for all out-of-scope work (i.e., non-routines, etc.) in a timely manner. Seek customer

approval(s) on original, additional, and/or revised estimates to accomplish maintenance on customers’ units.

  • Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, and co-workers.
  • Ensure all safety programs and procedures are performed during the assigned shift.
  • Ensure proper material orders, amounts & usage as well as cancel orders when an alternate repair is found.
  • Oversee, and as required perform, various types of non-destructive testing.
  • Perform repair station incoming inspection requirements for new and continued-serviced parts for

serviceability, including but not limited to, verifying certification from manufacture or overhaul facility, and

inspecting for customer and/or shipping damage.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable FAR’s during day-to-day assignments. Qualifications
  • 2 to 5 years of experience as a technician in an aerospace manufacturing/commercial aircraft environment.
  • A&P Mechanic or Repairman Certificate experience for specialized inspection authority needed.
  • Capable of interpreting drawings, blueprints, service bulletins, & any other related documents as required.
  • BS degree in a technical discipline is a plus.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with the applicable regulations FAR Parts including: Certification procedures

for products and parts; Airworthiness Standards: Aircraft Engines; Maintenance, Preventative
Maintenance, Rebuilding and Alteration; Identification and Registration Marking; Certification: Airmen
Other than Flight Crewmembers-Subpart E-Repairman; General Operating and Flight Rules; Operating
Requirements: Commuter and On-Demand Operations and Rules Governing Persons on Board such

Aircraft; and Repair Stations.

  • Must be familiar with the Air Transport Association (ATA) Spec 100 for technical manuals used in the

maintenance of their respective products.

  • Must be able to understand and interpret Component Maintenance Manuals.
  • Must be able to use the appropriate inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment and tools

used to determine the airworthiness of the article on which maintenance is being performed Benefits
