About the role
Our current Technician is taking parental leave, so we are looking to fulfill a 9 month fixed term contract.
This positions primary focus is to support the Surveyors in their daily operations whilst developing your own surveying capabilities in the following deliverables:
Work towards conducting regular as-built surveys and maintain the digital mine model.
Work towards maintaining the site services model.
Ensure sound record keeping of survey work.
Work towards set out of mine design (Underground; lateral development, vertical development, production rings, Open Pit; drill patterns and pit extents, ore zone delineation of dig blocks)
Support mine surveyors with the extension, maintenance and rigorous checks on the survey control networks.
Conduct field checks and assist with the drafting of mine and emergency plans as directed by the surveyor.
Assist with the accurate and timely collection and delivery of Aerial photogrammetry work.
Upkeep and appropriate calibration and testing of survey equipment.
About you
As a passionate Technician, you demonstrate a ‘safety first’ mindset, strive for excellence, and take accountability. You will be an effective communicator who’s able to quickly establish rapport with multiple stakeholders and add value to a collaborative team. You must be open to constructive feedback, respect opinions and challenge constructively to build trust and create an inclusive environment where everyone can do their best work.
You will be either be a resident of the Kalgoorlie/Boulder area, or FIFO from Perth working an 8:6 (12-hour day) roster, Thursday to Thursday.

Completed secondary education that included mathematics at a Year 12 level or equivalent, or you are progressing towards a Diploma of Surveying or degree, or you have a degree or diploma, but less than 2 years’ experience.
Experience working in a mining, industrial or construction environment (preferred)
Computer literate
Competent with presenting and communicating information.
Positive attitude towards exhibiting and promoting good health and safety behaviours.
Communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders throughout the business.
Solid analytical and problem-solving ability.
Good attention to detail and ability to maintain a high standard of work.
Excellent time management and prioritisation of stakeholder requirements.
Self-motivated and proactive to achieve individual, team and business goals.
