Our Technician Trainee Program trains mechanically minded individuals over the course of 18 months to become Road Technicians at Alliance Material Handling. This is a paid, full time training program that includes classroom training, hands on shop training, and on the road mentorship. All trainees will become forklift operator certified, Crown and PM certified. All trainees are eligible for full benefits. The Technician Trainee Program runs 90 days; days 1-60 include operator training, safety, lift truck basics, PM, electrical, hydraulics, traction and steering systems and includes on the road shadowing. Days 61-90 include LP fuel systems, transmission, PE4500 repairs, specialty lines, laydown/standup, battery and charger training. Your progress will be reviewed at 180 days, 1 year, and 18 months to ensure successful progression through the program.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Travel to and work at customer facilities, interacting and communicating with customers to keep their equipment operating safely and efficiently
  • Battery maintenance and basic electronic repairs experience
  • Ability to work in a variety of awkward positions while repairing forklifts and any other job related machinery
  • Manual dexterity and strength to handle parts, tools and equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
  • Technical experience in repairs of electric, gas and LP forklifts a must
  • Must have their own tools and a good driving record

Responsibilities:

  • Repair industrial batteries and chargers
  • Repair forklifts
  • Servicing customers
  • Troubleshooting
  • Routine maintenance
  • Communicate with customers about their equipment including explaining the condition of the unit, problems found and needed repairs
  • Provide the best possible service, maintenance, diagnosis and repair on customer and company equipment
