We are seeking and Animal Health Technician to join IQVIA Laboratories in Laval, Quebec, Canada.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Animal Monitoring: Oversee the monitoring of animals, collect blood samples, administer treatments, and conduct terminal sample collections and necropsies.
  • Sample Management: Process and store collected samples, compiling raw data based on training and competencies.
  • Training Support: Assist in the training of junior animal health technicians.
  • SOP Development: Collaborate on drafting new standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintaining existing SOPs related to departmental activities.
  • Process Improvements: Contribute to process enhancements and troubleshooting to optimize efficiency and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Laboratory Evaluation: Provide insights and evaluate local laboratory requirements for upcoming studies.
  • Technical Support: Address technical inquiries and supply technical documents and data, either directly or by managing study-specific databases.
  • Safety and 6S: Support and uphold safety standards and 6S initiatives.
  • Continuing Education: Engage in ongoing education through self-study, attending training sessions, and participating in meetings.

THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED FOR THIS ROLE:

  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory agency standards.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment.
  • Strong technical skills in animal handling.
  • Good computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and managers.
  • Applicable certifications and licenses as required by local regulations.
  • Bilingual (French-english)You will be required to work directly with IQVIA departments, teams, support functions and stakeholders located across Canada and around the world therefore, a functional knowledge of English, both written and spoken, is necessary to perform the duties of this position.
