QUALIFICATIONS:

Three-year Community College Civil Engineering Diploma recognized by Ontario Certified Engineering Technician and Technologist (OACETT).

EXPERIENCE:

Two years related experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS ARE NECESSARY:

  • Valid Driver’s Licence – Class G.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and ability to use database and GIS software.
  • Working knowledge of Confined Space Entry practices including standard First Aid and CPR.
  • Ministry of the Environment Certificate in Sewer and Watermain Construction Inspection, Sewer Design and Watermain Design.
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Regulations for construction and inspection projects, as Project Manager, with direct implementation of City projects.
  • Member of the Ontario Certified Engineering Technician and Technologist (OACETT) as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or Associate Member of the Ontario Certified Engineering Technician and Technologist (OACETT) with full membership as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) completed within three years from date of hire.

Responsibilities:

Reports to a Division Manager. Acts under the direction of an Engineer or Senior Technologist to plan, administer, manage, carry out and approve various technical studies, designs, construction and maintenance works, reports, agreements, and applications related to the operation of the Division.
