POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are recruiting for a Research Technologist to work within The Centre for Applied Genomics. Reporting to the Manager, The Centre for Applied Genomics, and working under the supervision of the Manager, Sequencing Facility, the successful candidate will join a core facility team providing experimentation on high throughput, “next-generation” DNA sequencing (NGS) instruments.

• Preparation of samples for running on these instruments, including quality control and assurance, operation of instruments in a production environment, trouble-shooting, and quality assessment of generated data
• The position will entail essentially 100% wet-lab (experimental) work
• Tracking and entering experimental details into the Laboratory Information Management system (LIMS)
• Preparation of final data for delivery to clients
