Description:

HOW WILL I HELP?

The Technology Data Specialist position will serve as a crucial role for insights regarding the definition, transformation, utilisation, and reporting of data within the Credit Risk domain. The individual occupying this role will act as a Data Subject Matter Expert (SME), possessing a deep comprehension of data architectures and the ability to effectively relay this information to other teams, fostering a data-oriented approach. The execution of these responsibilities can be approached from various methodologies, such as Waterfall or Agile, or through business process management, all through the lens of technological implementation.

They are responsible for:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather, examine, share, and confirm the data needs across projects within Credit Risk
  • Standardising the discovery of data elements for projects and how they are documented to avoid duplication across projects. Hence improving how data is understood across projects and teams within Credit Risk
  • Extracting data from various Credit Risk data repositories
  • Analysing data outcomes to determine and report on the quality of the data and communicate to stakeholders the results in a meaningful way
  • Developing a detailed understanding of end-to-end dataflows
  • Managing their work across multiple streams of work and projects, interpreting, and understanding the impact data elements have on each phase
  • Being able to understand and clearly articulate the role data elements play from origination through to deliveryWorking with the entire Credit Risk Technology team to develop appropriate requirements and interpret into end-to-end design and development

  • The ideal candidate will have a background in Banking, Financial Services or Credit, have extensive hands-on experience in data analyst tasks (data cleaning, data wrangling, analysis), experience in using SQL and have excellent stakeholder management skills.
    The role must be based in Sydney and will require candidates to attend the office 2-3 days a week.

To be set up for success in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in data analyst tasks such as data cleaning, data wrangling, analysis, visualisation and communication of insights. For example:
  • Data Analyst in identifying and clarifying the business need/opportunity/problem into technology solutions for process re-engineering or business transformation initiatives.
  • Facilitation of workshops involving participants from senior management to business users
  • Strong experience of using SQL for:
  • Data extract and profiling
  • Lineage mapping and gapping analysis
  • Proven experience with designing and implementing methodologies
  • Must come from a financial services/banking background
  • Proficient in one computer language using either Python, R or SAS for data gathering, data cleaning, statistical analysis and data visualisation
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Desired business and/or technology tertiary qualification
