- Work as part of the senior leadership team at a dynamic and ambitious organisation with a significant national footprint
- Opportunity to liaise across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and build and maintain relationships
The Library is seeking to fill the ongoing role of Director, Technology Operations (EL2), leading the section as part of the Digital Branch. This is a leadership position within the organisation and the branch, where you will work alongside five other branch directors and approximately 100 other technologists.
The role works with considerable independence, under broad direction from the Chief Information Officer, to develop and ensure delivery of the ongoing operation of the Library’s IT Infrastructure and applications.
In this role you will be responsible for managing the library’s technology infrastructure and services, which delivers digital library services used by over 20 million visitors a year, as well as corporate technology infrastructure and services. The hybrid technology environment comprises bespoke, open-source, commercial software, high-performance enterprise search platforms, complex workflow systems, and network storage holding petabytes of digital objects.
You will manage a team of multidisciplinary specialists and be responsible for cybersecurity operations, including vulnerability management and incident response.
You will also oversee vendor and contract management, ensuring that industry relationships are effectively managed to support the library’s goals. To support this, you will oversee the development and execution of comprehensive procurement plans. You will have a strategic approach to asset and infrastructure planning and lifecycle maintenance, assuring a robust and cost-effective platform that supports the library’s business objectives.
To be a suitable contender for this role, you must be a first-class leader with a strong ICT background and a demonstrated record of achievement in a similar technical leadership role.
