POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for Information Technology Systems and the supervision of that department at Topeka Correctional Facility. The primary responsibilities include Domain Administration, Network Server Administration, Hardware and Software support of PC based systems with an emphasis on quality user support.

Job Responsibilities: (may include but are not limited to the following)

• Participate in organization’s strategic planning.
• Train, coach or mentor individuals performing IT functions, to accomplish tasks and enhance development of skills and abilities. Recruit, hire, retain, supervise, or support the professional growth of individuals performing IT functions
• Define or plan projects to improve information systems or to support the organization’s business functions with information technology
• Apply assigned resources to complete IT projects on schedule and within budget; produce required management reports and make project presentations
• Identify, document or present alternative ways to meet the information requirements
• Provide user support to the employees of Topeka Correctional Facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two years advising and assisting computer users in a distributed computing environment.

Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Independent work experience in Information Technology Management.
• Two (2) years network administration related experience in installation and maintenance of PC systems with emphasis on open-source systems.
• At least one year Windows and Linux Server administration.
• 0One year VMware administration experience.
• CompTIA A+ Certification (or equivalent)
• CompTIA Network+ Certification (or equivalent)
