Description:

DESCRIPTION

Under supervision the Monitor Technician (MT) is responsible for cardiac and oximetry monitor surveillance for monitored and telemetry patients. Responsible for reporting rhythm changes and potentially lethal rhythms to a Registered Nurse following outlined workflow. Interacts directly with physicians regarding the interpretation of cardiac rhythm patterns or changes in patterns. Maintains a safe, hazard free and clean environment which facilitates quality patient focused care.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Coursework/Training: Verification of completion of basic EKG cardiac rhythm recognition course required with-in six(6) months of hire.
  • 6 months experience working in a healthcare or institutional setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Coursework/Training Medical terminology course.
  • Coursework/Training Verification of advanced cardiac rhythm recognition course.
  • 6 months experience monitoring ECGs in an area that has the capability to monitor at least 16 patients
