Description:

The Special Projects Department is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Temple Facilities Assistant (Building Services Technician) for the Stockholm Temple Site. In this role, you’ll help ensure the ancillary buildings run smoothly and are maintained during the Temple renovation project. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating an environment where patrons consistently enjoy a positive and spiritually uplifting experience during their visits.
  • Maintaining and managing the temple facilities to meet the high standards set by the First Presidency.
  • Supporting the overall operation and upkeep of the temple’s physical facilities.
  • Operating, maintaining, and repairing various building systems to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of the premises. Your work will encompass both domestic and commercial systems, requiring a hands-on, versatile approach as directed by the Temple Facility Manager.
  • This role is integral to the sacred purpose of the temple and requires a commitment to excellence and service.
  • HVAC Systems: Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Electrical Work: Inspect, maintain, and repair domestic and commercial electrical systems.
  • Plumbing: Perform basic plumbing repairs and small-scale installations.
  • Painting & Decorating: Maintain the appearance of the premises through painting and decorating tasks.
  • General Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, minor repairs, carpentry, and upkeep of fixtures, fittings, and equipment.
  • Administrative Support: Contribute to the yearly facilities budget preparation, submit electronic timecards, and assist with project administration.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with team members to meet maintenance and operational objectives.
  • Adaptability: Learn and perform site-specific tasks while adjusting to changing priorities.
  • Problem-Solving: Address maintenance issues efficiently and handle challenges under pressure.
  • Practical experience in HVAC, electrical systems, basic plumbing, painting & decorating, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to perform in high-pressure situations while maintaining a collaborative team dynamic.
  • Eagerness to acquire new skills and adapt to site-specific tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Completed apprenticeship in a relevant trade.
  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 5 qualification (or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Building Services Technician or in a related trade.
  • Drivers licence B. If you have BE it is meritorious.
  • Strong skills in workshop organization and inventory management.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel.
  • Flexibility to rotate shifts and assignments.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 23 kg.
