Reporting to the Accounting Services Manager through the Accounting Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for accounting duties within the Accounting Department of Financial Services.
The successful applicants for this Temporary Educational Support Staff positions, Level D ($47,511- $57,686), will be working 35 hours per week, 12 months per year, effective as soon as possible to January 4, 2025.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Post-Secondary education is required (undergraduate degree or college diploma);
Proven experience and proficiency working in a windows environment using various administrative software packages (MS Office, Adobe Acrobat Professional, G-Suite) is required;
2 years prior experience working in a similar accounting function and knowledge of applicable tax rules is required.

Responsibilities:

Receive, review and verify accounts payable invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to inputting into the accounting system
Process vendor payments and perform payment cycles to meet payment terms and conditions for Board vendors in a timely and accurate manner
Receive, review and verify employee expense reimbursements forms for proper approvals, compliance with Board policies and procedures.
Process employee expense reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner
Process other miscellaneous accounts payable payments;
Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with internal and external customers (schools, departments, vendors);
Log receipt and shipment of school money bags;
Reconcile vendor accounts;
Prepare journal entries as required;
Provide service and support to other board staff/departments as it relates to accounts payable matters;
Scan various financial documents into the Board’s electronic data management system;
Work collaboratively as a member of the Financial Services team to meet departmental and organizational objectives
Perform other duties as required which include but are not limited to filing or other administrative duties.
