Description:
Aspen View Public Schools, with a division office located in the town of Athabasca, is a rural school division providing diverse and innovative programming to students in a number of communities. The division is unique in that it is surrounded by a multitude of lakes, golf courses and trails that appeal to an active, outdoor lifestyle while still being in close proximity to larger urban centers.
Many schools within Aspen View are geographically located to allow beginning teachers to meet the requirements of the Northern Student Teacher Bursary and/or Northern Alberta Development Council bursaries
Edwin Parr Composite School, located in the Town of Athabasca, serves approximately 700 students from Grades 7-12. The new school building opened in September 2018. Athabasca lies two hours north of Edmonton with a population of 3,000 within the town; and an additional 4,000 in the surrounding county.
Edwin Parr Composite School is recruiting to a full time temporary teacher to work with literacy and numeracy interventions and the Learning Hub. Elements of this position could vary dependent on the skillset of the successful candidate; there may be the inclusion of junior and/or senior high elective courses.
