Description:
Base Pay: $14.80 Hourly

NOTE: This temporary position will not exceed 29 hours per week.
SUMMARY:
Coordinates the activities associated with the processing and filing of warrants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Processes all paperwork associated with an indictment including input in computer, researching, sorting for TCIC and NCIC computer, filing, etc.
Compiles computer printout of all County Court Cases filed.
Locates Bail Bonds in file cabinets for all county court cases.
Cross references bail bonds with case numbers.
Assists subpoena desk. (enters subpoenas)
Obtains report of Daily Release and Defendant Release for disbursement of bail bond to respective place.
Assists the foreign clerk (answers all ttys and arranges trips).
Also assists local desk (enters local warrants and obtains reports) in the absence of any of the clerks.
Prints daily reports of Daily Releases, Defendants Releases and County Court Cases Filed.
Prints monthly reports of Warrants Received and Executed by date, Subpoena Activity Reports and End of Month Reconciliation Reports for all cash bonds and cash fines collected in the jail.
Responsible for processing cash bonds and cash fines.
Verifies the amount collected, makes daily deposits to bank for the amount collected, compiles all receipts and ensures that all monies collected are accounted for.
Prepares a weekly check for Treasury Section for advance deposits.
Assists public with questions, complaints and information on warrants.
Delegate routine assignments regarding warrants to clerks.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with a major in criminal justice, business or a related field and two years of related experience; or high school graduate (GED) and four years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
One-year supervisory experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
Ability or demonstrated ability to learn to operate a personal computer and utilize associated software.
Ability to maintain a variety of records and information in an efficient manner.
Ability to delegate work assignments and supervise activities of subordinate personnel.

Greets and assists visitors and screens incoming calls.
Processes mail.
Obtains information from family members on mental commitments for process and issuance to field officers.
Performs such other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assigns and reviews work of clerical employees in the warrants division.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Nueces County policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
