Description:
Assists Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and Community Education (CE) with recruiting, onboarding, registering, providing resource referrals, keeping records, and following up with prospective and enrolled students of the Noncredit Workforce Training Initiative grant (NWTI). This program is funded by the Illinois Community College Board and the grant will end by March 31, 2025.
Provides program information to students in a timely manner. Inquiries and referrals may be received by phone, email, and person at Harper’s Palatine, Mount Prospect, and Hanover Park locations. Includes travel or remote participation in local community events in the Harper College district. Meetings with students will be done as needed in person, virtually using Webex or MS Teams, or via telephone.
Responsible for remaining current on all training programs offered the NWTI grant within Community Education (CE), Continuing Professional Education (CPE), Harper Business Solutions (HBS), and related credit pathways leading to certificates or degrees at Harper College.
Responsible for developing the scholarship application form and process, applying funds to student accounts in a timely manner, and ensuring students are successfully enrolled in classes.
Responsible for learning about other student financial assistance programs to help grant participants transition into college certificate and degree programs. Financial aid programs include federal and state grants, institutional and private scholarships, and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
Creates, compiles, and maintains reports for internal and external constituents. This includes tracking scholarship applications, maintaining accurate enrollment reports of participants, and recording student employment after their training is completed.
Ensures course listings are accurate and current.
Oversees the development and updating of marketing materials, including written materials such as course catalogs, flyers, brochures, fact sheets, calendar listings, digital marketing, and web pages.
Conducts online and in-person information sessions.
Follows privacy and confidentiality guidelines with student information.
Performs related duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of two years of experience providing office support.
Experience in adult or continuing education preferred.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience and enthusiasm for working with students from diverse backgrounds and varying academic experience level
