Description:
Northwestern Pritzker School of Law invites applications for entry-level, tenure-track faculty positions with an expected start date in advance of the 2025-26 academic year.
Northwestern seeks applicants with distinguished academic credentials and a record of or potential for high scholarly achievement and excellence in teaching. We are looking for scholars in the areas of Business Law, Intellectual Property, Law-&-Tech/Law-&-Engineering, International Law, Energy/environmental Law, Immigration, and Professional Responsibility, but we will also look broadly to identify outstanding scholars in other areas. Northwestern welcomes applications from candidates who would contribute to the diversity of our faculty and community. Positions are full-time appointments on a tenure-track.
Candidates must have a J.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree, a distinguished academic record, and demonstrated potential to produce outstanding scholarship. Northwestern Pritzker School of Law will consider the entry level candidates in the AALS Faculty Appointments Register, as well as through application directly to our law school. Candidates should apply directly through our online application system: Apply for Job. Materials required for online application include CV, research agenda, teaching evaluations (if available), and law school transcript. Specific inquiries should be addressed to the chair of the Appointments Committee, Alex Lee (alex.lee@law.northwestern.edu) and to associate director of faculty affairs, Anne Caliendo (anne-caliendo@law.northwestern.edu).
The expected base pay range for this position is $200,000 - $215,000. This base pay range is for a twelve-month academic appointment and is subject to negotiation.
Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
