Description:
NVIT anticipates the need for multiple term instructors to teach courses in the First Nations Speech-Language Assistant (FNSL) program and invites applications from qualified candidates. NVIT provides FNSL courses through the Community Education department to be offered in a hybrid format.
Applicants should indicate which courses they are qualified for and interested in teaching. The courses to be taught include:
- FNSL 110 - Intro to First Nations Speech-Language Assistant Program (Summer 2024)
- ENGL 101 - Foundations for Academic Writing (Fall 2024 - Spring 2025)
- FNSL 160 - Speech Development (Fall 2024)
- FNSL 130 - Language Development (Fall 2024)
- FNSL 170 - Literacy Interventions (Spring 2025)
- FNSL 140 - Interventions for Communication Exceptionalities I (Spring 2025)
- FNSL 150 - Interventions for Communications Exceptionalities II ( Spring 2025)
- FNSL 180 - Tools and Technologies for Speech-Language Intervention (Summer 2025)
- PSYC 111 - Intro to Psychology (Summer 2025)

Responsibilities:
Instructors will teach in NVIT’s FNSL program with a varied workload. The successful candidates will be committed to preparing and delivering a course to develop skills in individuals pursuing a First Nations Speech-Language Assistant certificate. Term positions vary in length and will start and end according to the schedule below. All term positions involve development and delivery of a 3-credit course.
