Description:
JOB SUMMARY
As terminal managers, you will report directly to your regional manager on day-to-day issues. As Terminal Managers you will be privy to detailed information on the business and discretion is important. The manager will be responsible for the overall success of your terminal, including its physical property and security. You are expected to keep your regional manager informed of all issues and work together to strengthen your terminal.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a similar role.
- Having knowledge of flatbed operations is considered an asset.
- Must possess strong organizational and communication skills
- Must have the ability to work with business operations in a safety-first environment.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment (including Excel and skills in database management and record-keeping).
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
- Ability to handle crisis situations well
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
Responsibilities:
- Identify terminal issues, including overall physical and security-related items
- Identify staffing needs and any related employment issues in the terminal
- Manage Terminal Revenue and identify trends.
- Support Maintenance and Safety to ensure compliance and reduce downtime,
- Monitor and direct all dispatching activities, including tracking, routing, and dispatching transportation vehicles.
- Provide direction and supervision to dispatchers, customer service representatives, and brokers by delegating workload, measuring performance, and maintaining appropriate staff levels through recruitment, selection, and retention activities.
