Description:
Job Title: Terminal Manager, Wembley
Reports To: General Manager, Terminals
Location: Wembley, AB
Position Summary: The Terminal Manager at our Wembley, AB location is be responsible for supervising and coordinating the day to day activities and managing all staff at our largest rail terminal. This position plays a critical role mentoring and coaching our staff at the Wembley terminal to ensure consistent flow of product into and out of the facility.

We are looking for individuals with a hardworking attitude, who have working knowledge of tools and mechanics. Individuals must be self-motivated and adaptable to change. Other things that will help you succeed in this role include:
- Minimum 10 years of proven experience in a similar role;
- Minimum 8 years of proven management experience, leading and mentoring a large team directly and indirectly;
- Strong business development and technical acumen, with keen ability to work with all levels of field and corporate staff; and
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering technology, or commerce/business administration an asset but not a requirement;
- Availability for occasional travel for training requirements.
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Hire, manage and mentor a highly motivated team of Operators and provide leadership and direction by engaging and empowering a dedicated and diverse team;
- Maintain staffing levels for facility including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints, and resolving conflicts working with HR;
- Assess the current inventory, understand material movement needs, and plan accordingly;
- Review receiving or shipping notices, requests for movement of raw materials and finished products, and reports of warehousing space available to develop a schedule for material handling activities;
- Work with colleagues in different departments to ensure a smooth flow of materials or products;
- Verify and prepare various records such as routing slips, material requisitions, bills of lading, and job orders;
- Analyze production schedules to estimate the necessary workforce needed to complete job assignments;
- Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations and policies to ensure the safety of all employees;
- Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production schedules;
- Recommend and implement measures to enhance production methods, improve equipment performance, and maintain or elevate the quality of product;
- Maintain time and production records;
- Interface with peers from other terminals to ensure all company resources are being maximized; and
- Ensure the team is aligned in achieving the operational performance goals.
