  • Testing Network Products: Develop and execute manual and automated test cases to ensure Ciena’s Routing & Switching Portfolio (RSP) products meet high-quality standards in areas like system-level functionality, routing and switching, performance, provisioning, and fault management.
  • Automation: Help automate manual test cases by writing scripts and developing automated test frameworks using modern tools and languages.
  • Learning & Growing: Gain exposure to network technologies and testing methodologies, including Agile practices, while working alongside experienced engineers and mentors.
  • Troubleshooting & Debugging: Assist in identifying defects, reproduce issues, and help the development team troubleshoot and resolve them.
  • Documenting & Reporting: Learn to analyze test results, prepare detailed test reports, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Providing Support: Assist in testing new features, system upgrades, and customer prototype demonstrations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas to improve testing processes, tools, and automation.

What skills and qualifications are we looking for?

  • Comfortable working in Linux/UNIX environments and with command-line tools.
  • Testing Skills:
  • Familiarity with manual testing processes, test case design, and bug tracking tools (experience in automated testing is a plus, but not required).
  • A willingness to learn about automation frameworks and test scripting.
  • Communication Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to document test results and report findings.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently and ask questions when needed.
  • Problem-Solving Skills:
