Test Baker
Test Baker will works closely within R&D Bakery team to support testing of bakery products, raw materials and recipe formulations.
The role is primarily the preparation of sweet goods and breads, by following set recipes and processes, and the compilation of reports/data based on such.
Analysis and feedback of finished tests is a requirement, while also providing sound and accurate record keeping of completed tests.
As a minimum, the candidate will have a passion for food and baked goods specifically, with an eye for detail and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Hands on production of sweet goods and bread items.
  • Maintain detailed records of recipes, processes and outcomes for future reference.
  • Ensure that all goods meet quality and safety standards.
  • Help maintain and manage inventory, ensuring freshness and availability of ingredients.
  • Prepare data and reports to maintain full and accurate record keeping of recipes, processes and outcomes.
  • Follow all food safety and quality guidelines at all times while on the site premises.
  • Help to maintain all equipment and hardware associated with the lab environment.
  • Become familiar with all baking equipment and processes as per guidelines and standards.
  • Become an active part in the R&D team, participate in discussions and contribute to the quality food culture onsite.

KPIs
Trial success rate: Trials should meet established quality and performance standards.
Accuracy in usage of raw materials, production of samples and delivery of data for trial reports.
Peer review: Supervisors and peer reviews for evaluation of teamwork, quality of work and communication of results.
Teamwork: Fostering a professional work environment where quality and delivery of assignments is performed in a collaborative way
Work experience requirement
3 to 5 years application experience in a hands-on bakery role.
Qualification
Minimum of High School Diploma with a Baking qualification
