Location: Bradford/ Hybrid Working (1-2 days in the office a week)
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Test Delivery Manager to join the award winning QA and Testing team at Yorkshire Water.
This role with a pathway to Head of QA exists to run the team that validate our customer experience and interaction platforms.
Broadly this includes our billing, payment and customer management systems, the YW website, and the customer contact, comms platforms. As you’d expect these platforms have extensive integration to the wider YW application set which you’ll need to consider, manage accordingly.
You’ll need a proven track record in a senior QA delivery role and have a strong ambition to progress to a “Head of” role in due course.

WHAT WE DO:

5.5 million people in Yorkshire rely on the services YW provide. Everyday 2 million homes across the region receive over 1 billion litres of drinking water, delivered, collected, and recycled through 50,000 miles of pipework. Protecting public health and the environment is at the heart of what we do.
New environmental legislation, unprecedented levels of investment driving strategic modernisation programmes coupled with changing customer expectations means that this is an exciting time to discover opportunities within the water industry. The Technology Change Quality Assurance team is at the heart of this modernisation journey.
We are the only team with reach across the whole spectrum of YW application and platforms ranging from customer facing websites, billing, and CRM platforms through the myriad of engineering, operational and corporate platforms in addition to into infrastructure and security initiatives. At any one point we typically support 70 or so distinct testing programmes and our service proposition covers the whole range of test phase types be that component, system, SIT, UAT, Performance, OAT, accessibility, device, security, and regression testing as well as quality governance of COTS solutions. As a team we support both Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks and as we have grown and been supported by our specialist partners, we have embraced automation opportunities and having proven the benefit continue to build those assets out and promote our SDET community.
Underpinning the QA service, our Test Environment Management team continue to mature their service offering to ensure the required environments are available, configured to the required state, integrated, and have the right data to support the test approaches.
As a team we are typically 100 strong albeit this flex’s a little according to demand. Much of our headcount capability is delivered by our two strategic specialist test partners, with our YW permanent roles occupied by experienced and talented Test Delivery Managers delivering our services across defined portfolio’s.

WHAT SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED:

• A proven QA Mgt history managing a multimillion-pound portfolio of projects via our specialist test partners coupled with a demonstrable record of practice maturity is a necessity.
• Ideally this would be coupled with a formal professional QA qualification e.g., ISEB Intermediate Certification in Software Testing or ISEB Software Testing Practitioner.
• Please note this is not a Test Lead, Test Manager, Programme Test Manager role, these roles will report into you as the overall individual responsible for QA and Test across our Customer portfolio
  We embrace a flexible working model, where our hybrid setup typically requires an average of one day in the office every other week. This could be slightly more when collaborative efforts, training or meeting deadlines demand it. For those who prefer to work on-site, our office is open Monday-Friday during working hours.
