EXPERIENCE

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work based experience.
• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer ideally with a focus on media-related projects.
• Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies.
• Experience with providing coaching and mentoring
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.
• Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.
• You are flexible and curious in your approach
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

ROLE OVERVIEW

We’re looking for test specialist who is a real team individual to work with our media client to be responsible for the compatibility, accessibility and functional testing of their Weather and News & Sports websites.
The Test Engineer will be working across multi-disciplinary product development teams focused on improving the user experience and delivering unique functionalities designed exclusively for the news and sports websites.
The successful applicant will have demonstratable REST API testing expertise, have an understanding of continuous integration and deployment methodologies, be comfortable providing test input at all stages of development and have knowledge of accessibility testing.

ESSENTIAL KEY SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You will:

• have several years’ experience of functional backend testing REST APIs using Postman or similar
• have understanding of continuous integration and deployment methodologies
• be able to provide test input at all stages of development
• have knowledge of accessibility testing (e.g. assistive technology, tab indexes, off-screen content)
• be able to write high quality documentation
• have experienced working in an Agile team
• be a keen team player with a strong willingness to learn
