Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Experimental Biomechanics Team at Nobel Biocare is seeking for a highly motivated and skilled new joiner, supporting the team as an experienced and skilled Test Engineer.
The Test Engineer Biomechanics provides expertise and hands on experience in the field of mechanical testing medical device testing and test model development to support verification activities of newly developed products. He/she is a profound expert in the fields of biomechanics (implementation of new test models and concepts into standard operating procedures). Also he/she ensures an operational laboratory infrastructure (i.e. organization of maintenance and calibration of test equipment).
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide expertise in the fields of mechanical testing and test model development ideally in medical device industry
- Prepare and perform mechanical product and material tests according to internal protocol/SOP and international standards
- Development of test concepts (i.e. designing of test set-ups, development of new test methods based on biomechanical principles) to verify product requirements
- Analysis of test results including statistical evaluations and compiling the results in test reports
- Ensure an operational laboratory infrastructure (i.e. organization of maintenance and calibration)
- Review and optimize existing and implement / establish new SOP’s
- Write and review test plans and provide expertise from a testing point of view
- Communicate and discuss the results with the biomechanics team, research and product development.
- Ensure conformity of lab quality and maintenance system to SOP’s and standards
- Practical experience in conventional machining (milling, drilling and lathe machining) as an asset
CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- “Dipl. Techniker/in HF/TS“ (or equivalent) degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or materials science.
- Experienced in the field of mechanical testing and test method development, ideally in the area of medical devices
- Experience with being part of a interdisciplinary project team
- Knowledge in biomechanics / ISO Standards / GLP
- Experienced in the use of equipment to produce/modify setups and test samples (milling/drilling/turning) as an asset
- Experienced in the field of optical failure analysis
- Fluency in English language (additional German language as an advantage)
- Experience with working in a regulated laboratory environment
