Description:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Test Engineer to join our Testing team reporting to the Lead Testing Engineer within Innovation. As the Test Engineer you will be stepping into a pivotal role where you will develop, test, and validate state-of-the-art mechanical seal products for compressors and pumps. As a test engineer, you’ll prepare, assemble, and install seals, setting up high-pressure and high-speed test rigs with precision. Utilise specialist equipment to capture and analyse critical data, supporting innovative solutions and failure investigations. Your responsibilities extend to maintaining impeccable lab practices, upgrading test rigs, and collaborating closely with product designers and engineers. This role is based from our headquarters within Slough working Monday to Friday normal office hours.

Responsibilities:
- Developing, testing, and validating new mechanical seal products used in rotating equipment such as compressors and pumps.
- Joint responsibility for the test lab areas in terms of working practices, housekeeping, and general safety.
- Seal preparation, assembly, test cell build, seal installation, setting up of high-pressure and high-speed test rigs for testing of mechanical seals.
- The setup and use of specialist equipment - gap probes / acoustic probes. Downloading, logging and storage of test data, drawing graphs + interpretation and analysis of data.
- Strip, inspection and analysis of seals and associated parts. Assisting with failure investigations, diagnosis and problem solving when development tests go wrong.
- Occasional writing of reports and new procedures / standards.
- Assisting with test rigs upgrades, diagnosing problems, planned maintenance and reliability improvement.
- Upgrades to rigs can include designing, coordinating, and implementing improvements or test specific requirements. This will include work on high pressure piping and equipment. (Training will be provided)
- Ensuring that jobs are executed on time and to a high-quality standard. Responsibility for ensuring appropriate practices and procedures are followed within the product development areas.
- Working closely and supporting the new product designers and application engineers (Scrum project teams)
- Reporting progress in team planning and review meetings
