Description:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be in our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge Street) / client office 2 times per week - subject to change at any time.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual with a technical mindset, excellent communication skills, and strong vendor management capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for environment scheduling and allocation, continuous improvement and optimization, and test environment governance. This role requires close coordination with the application development team to implement best practices and ensure the health of the environment.

Responsibilities:

YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In this role, you will lead technical initiatives to enhance environment scheduling and allocation, driving continuous improvement and optimization of test environments. You will implement and oversee test environment governance, ensuring that all processes are efficient and effective.
  • Managing relationships with vendors will be a crucial part of your responsibilities. You will ensure timely and quality delivery of services, negotiating contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to meet our standards.
  • Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with the application development team to integrate best practices for environment health checks. Facilitating communication and coordination between up-stream and down-stream systems will be essential to ensure seamless test environment operations.
  • Planning and executing comprehensive test environment plans will be another important aspect of your role. You will conduct impact analysis on test execution due to environment unavailability and devise mitigation strategies. Coordinating with various teams to ensure test environments are available and functioning as required will be part of your daily activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

  • To be successful in this role, you should have a strong technical mindset with experience in environment scheduling, allocation, and optimization. Proficiency in test environment governance and continuous improvement methodologies is essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external vendors. You should be able to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts is required. You should be capable of managing multiple vendors and ensuring adherence to SLAs.
  • Strong analytical skills are needed to conduct impact analysis and develop mitigation plans. You should also have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to test environments.
  • Experience in coordinating with application development teams and other stakeholders is important. You should be able to lead cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required, along with several years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hybrid work environment.
