Description:
POSITION DESCRIPTION
GTMR, Inc. is seeking a Test and Evaluation Lab Technician to join our family. The work location for this position is at our corporate office in Hollywood, MD. In this role you will set up, configure and test multi-rack signal-intelligence systems, troubleshoot and isolate system faults and execute formal customer sell off events.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with RF (Radio Frequency) measurements, testing procedures and test equipment.
- Experience assembling, maintaining and repairing aviation RF electronics equipment/systems.
- Identifies and resolves test anomalies.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail required for compliance with Government and Program regulatory requirements for records and configuration management.
- Demonstrate ability to think independently and adapt to changing requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to lift 56 lbs.
- Active Current Secret US Security Clearance and be eligible for Top Secret clearance
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with test equipment including oscilloscopes, volt meters, spectrum, and network analyzers.
- Experience with Fiber power meters or Optical time domain reflectometers or fiber optic cabling.
- Experience writing, reviewing and updating test procedures.
- Experience working in a T&E lab environment or Navy P-8 platform.
Work shifts are variable and could include day/evening/night. Possible weekend work may be necessary depending on customer requirements and schedules.
Occasional travel will be required
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
AA degree in related discipline and typically 3 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Responsibilities:
- Plans, conducts and documents tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Designs, builds and analyzes test systems, materials, components, software and methodologies.
- Coordinates test requirements, determines test methods and capabilities. Conducts system test preparations by coordinating system integration, modification, setup, checkout and teardown.
- Conducts tests, analyzes data and documents results; participates in test readiness reviews.
- Troubleshoots and resolves laboratory, system and test-related problems.
- Coordinates test laboratory activities, maintenance and repairs.
- Coaches and trains others.
- Works under general direction of engineers.
