Description:

Leading societies to a low carbon future, Alstom develops and markets mobility solutions that provide the sustainable foundations for the future of transportation. Our product portfolio ranges from high-speed trains, metros, monorail, and trams to integrated systems, customised services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility solutions. Joining us means joining a caring, responsible, and innovative company where more than 70,000 people lead the way to greener and smarter mobility, worldwide.
As the pivotal rail project for Victoria, X’Trapolis 2.0, steam rolls ahead, we have created several permanent Test Technician positions to join our growing testing team.
Based in Newport and reporting to Newport T&C Manager, you will be one of our first Test Technicians, working as part of a rotating roster to execute the necessary tests on our trains. The role has accountability for the testing primarily of the electrical components and will operate in accordance with the established procedures and guidelines.

Key information to note:

  • Within the role, safety, attention to detail and teamwork are the core principles and we are seeking interest from individuals with experience in train testing or electrical testing in the rail/automotive/industrial or similar industry
  • An A grade, Electrician licence is mandatory and travel to our Ballarat facility may be required on an ad-hoc basis
  • The rotating roster includes day, afternoon and night shifts

The beauty of these roles, is that you will be surrounded by like minded colleagues for both support, guidance and comradery and you are encourage to seek out and suggest process improvements or ways of working that may streamline or improve outcomes.
If you regard yourself as a team player, problem solver, have experience from a similar role and are ready for some stable work in your local community, we’re ready to hear from you. If you had some questions or wanted to know a bit more, I’m happy to hear from you either via gemma.cox@alstomgroup.com or 0468 601 825. The X’Trapolis 2.0 team is committed to the ongoing development, engagement and satisfaction of our people and will be open to discuss opportunities where not every required skill is met (that is non mandatory) with anyone who has the motivation, willingness to learn and team orientation that is essential to our culture.
I commit to providing an outcome to all applicants as soon as a decision is reached but please note, shortlisting is an ongoing process, so it is encouraged to submit your application early via this portal.
