From our beginnings as a single dress fabric stall at Queen Victoria Market Spotlight has grown to become one of the largest fabrics, craft, party and home decorating superstores.
Spotlight Design team, our internal Design team supports the development of design, product development and packaging across our private brands and integrated brands across our Spotlight Merchandise teams. This will be a hands-on, entrepreneurial, fast-paced role in a culture that rewards initiative and great ideas.
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Head of Design and Innovation, Design Manager and the rest of the Design team to create commercially profitable designs for the Home Interiors (Manchester, Home Décor, Furnishing) and Sew Fashion categories, working in conjunction with the Merchandise buying teams and their product lead merchant strategies
- Collaborating with the Merchandise buying teams to support their design and product development needs for our key private brands
- Development of the seasonal trend forecasts, mood boards and key themes for the Home Interiors and Sew Fashion teams
- Development of international trip reports, instore competitor research and analysis
- Anticipate and actively monitor long-term local and global market developments and their organisational impact
- Creating artwork hand drawn, painted or digital along with creating technical spec packs for our suppliers for production
