THEATRE ASSISTANT LEADING HAND
We are seeking a Theatre Assistant Leading Hand to assist with the day-to-day co-ordination of the Perioperative team at Port Macquarie Private Hospital. This is a Permanent Full-time opportunity with a Global Health Care Company!
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Recent experience in the theatre environment is desirable
- Relevant experience leading a team is desirable
- Understanding of issues associated with acute care / perioperative settings
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when required
- Excellent time management skills
- Sound written & verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of Infection Control principles
- Ability to implement change as required

With 72 beds, Port Macquarie Private Hospital offers a comprehensive range of services including Bariatric, Dental, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology Orthopaedic, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Vascular, Day surgery and medical services.
The Hospital has 7 Operating Theatres, 6 Chair Renal Dialysis Unit, 28 bed Rehabilitation Unit, a 5 bed Close Observation Unit along with ward accommodation for medical and surgical patients in a combination of private and shared rooms.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
- According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases, which may include Covid-19.
Responsibilities:
Supporting and assistance to our patients in the operating theatre under the direction and instruction of nursing and medical staff.
Preparation of the theatre environment and transporting or positioning of the patient under the guidance of the Perioperative Manager.
You will lead a team of other highly motivated theatre assistants and collaborate with the Perioperative Manager on rostering and training of the team.
You will ensure a high level of quality patient care is delivered in accordance with department policies & procedures and in line with Hospital strategic direction.
