Description:

Performing the circulator function in the operating theatre, working cohesively with all members of the theatre team to ensure that the very best service is provided to patients. Perform basic patient observations and recording (e.g. blood pressure, heart rate, blood glucose). Basic knowledge of surgical equipment including microscope and specialist ophthalmic equipment.
Having the ability to troubleshoot when needed. Maintaining hand hygiene and Infection Prevention and Control standards within a surgical setting. Providing close support to scrub practitioners and surgeons in the theatre setting; assisting with the WHO checklist pathway, additional patient support when required (hand-holding and moving and handling assistance). Assisting in the maintenance of required stock levels, and following the escalation process when required.
Managing the relationship with the patient and the provision of appropriate information to them, ensuring that exceptional customer service is delivered. Management of patient data; ensuring availability of information, required accuracy and confidentiality. This may involve liaising with the reception and clinical team, Newmedicas central operations team and updating Newmedicas electronic patient records accordingly. Working with other clinic staff, including clinicians to ensure optimal patient flow, including assisting them if required.
Undertaking other ad hoc and administrative tasks as required to ensure the smooth running of theatres. Appropriate escalation of process, clinical, equipment, quality or infection risk issues. Maintaining a positive relationship with client teams at every interaction. Committed to continued professional development and clinical governance, including participating in the appraisal process, completion of mandatory training and clinical audits and research as required
