Description:
We are currently seeking a Health Care Assistant to join the Surgical and Emergency Theatre team of Frimley Park Hospital. We welcome applications from motivated, enthusiastic individuals who are committed to providing excellent patient care.
Good communication skills, ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, as well as the ability to work under pressure is a requirement. Flexibility in shifts is essential to cover 24/7 departmental requirements, inclusive of weekends, night shifts and holidays. Previous experience working in a theatre and/or hospital environment is a not an essential requirement as the team provide necessary trainings and guidance for the role.
This Vacancy is also linked to a level 2 apprenticeship. This will support you to gain relevant knowledge, skills and experience that will help you to achieve your potential in this role. Working alongside the Trust’s experienced staff you will be supported to gain the apprenticeship qualification and functional skills in Maths and English if required. This is a great opportunity to gain a national recognised qualification.
We are keen to hear from you if you are looking to start a career journey in Theatres, training to become a Band 4 Nursing Associate, Band 5 registered ODP or Theatre Nurse. After completing the relevant time period as a Healthcare Assistant and with the relevant education entry level you can apply for these courses.
As an integral member of the Theatre team, the post holder will support other Theatre staff, and the wider multidisciplinary team, in the provision of high quality patient care.
The post holder will also provide a range of non-clinical duties to assist in the efficient running of the area.

Responsibilities:
To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team in the provision of appropriate and safe patient care.
To undertake any necessary housekeeping if required to ensure a suitable theatre environment.
Participate in providing physical and psychological support to the patient.
To assist the surgical team with assigned tasks.
To adhere to policies regarding confidentiality.
