Theatre Administrative Assistant
Ashtead Hospital, Surrey
Full Time 37.5 Hours
The role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Theatre Administrative Assistant to support the clinical teams and theatre activity at Ashtead Hospital.
The ideal candidate will have good administration skills and have the ability to organize and prioritize their workload whilst working under pressure and part of a team. You will need to be a good communicator and will be able to liaise confidently with clinicians, staff and visitors to the unit at all levels.
The team is busy and needs someone with proven high quality, customer service skills, and a commitment to focusing on accuracy and delivery.
On a daily basis, you will keep patient’s paperwork up to date, accurate and support the wider Theatre team with effectively managing all admin for the department.

Ashtead Hospital has been one of Surrey’s leading private hospitals since it opened in 1984. Ashtead Hospital is situated on the edge of Ashtead Village, on the A24 between Leatherhead and Epsom, and is just two miles from Junction 9 of the M25.
The hospital has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare for self-pay/insured and NHS patients. By investing in advanced medical technology, the private hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services including: full diagnostic and endoscopy procedures, orthopaedic surgery including spinal treatment and pain management.
Duties & responsibilities will include
- Handling enquiries and calls relating to Theatres and the operational aspects of the department
- Supporting theatres with administration tasks
- Maintaining appropriate safe stock levels of consumables within Theatres including par levels and stock rotation
- Act as point of contact for Theatres
- Developing and maintaining relevant databases
- Communicating with consultants and secretaries
- Promoting and participating in effective communications between other hospital departments and outside agencies as required
- Performing other ad-hoc duties as required by the Heads of Departments and the Senior Management Team
What you’ll bring with you
- GCSE level or equivalent
- English and Maths are particularly important to this role
- Experience within a customer service environment
- PC literate, particularly word and excel
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels (face to face/telephone/writing)
- Ability to work both on your own and as part of a team
- Able to organize own workload and to accommodate changing deadlines & self motivated
- Reliable and punctual
- Good organisational skills and presentation skills
