Description:
Role: Therapeutic Residential Worker
Salary: £23,151.50 - £28,000 per annum (depending on qualification) with £50 sleep-in allowance per sleep in.
Location: Ryton, Tyne & Wear
Contract/Hours: Permanent Full-time 37hrs per week (Some Sleep-Ins and waking nights will be required)

Join our team as a Therapeutic Residential worker and make a meaningful impact in the lives of trauma-informed children. In this role you’ll create a safe and nurturing environment where the children can heal and grow. You’ll build trusting relationships, facilitate engaging activities. Our trauma-informed approach recognises and responds to the impact of trauma on the lives of our young people, shaping every aspect of their care.
If your passionate about empowering young minds and helping them thrive we want to hear from you, whilst a qualification would be great, we’re very open to relevant experience from those with a positive attitude and the desire to give the best care to children and young people.
About the service
We’re very excited to be embarking on the creation of a brand-new residential children’s home, Brumby House, based in Ryton, Tyne & Wear.
Our 4-bed home will provide a safe and supportive environment for children aged 7-17 years old. It’s not just a place to stay, it will be their home.
The home is in a residential area with a variety of local amenities with great travel links from surrounding areas and free parking. We’re looking to recruit a dedicated team of Therapeutic Residential Workers who’ll ensure tailored, trauma-informed support is provided for each child.

Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have:
- Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust
- Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families
- Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting
- Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role
- Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
