Salary: £10,270 - £10,954 per annum

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our therapy team as a part time (16hours) technician in our specialist neuro rehab ward at QAH. You will be assisting patients who have suffered life changing events (such as Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury) to recover as much independence and function as possible, under the guidance of a large multi disciplinary team.
The role encompasses physical and cognitive rehabilitation, you will also be expected to support in personal care needs when appropriate, as well as social rehabilitation and administrative tasks.
If you are someone who can show initiative and are perhaps thinking or embarking on a training as a health care professional this could be the role for you.
Main Duties:
- To undertake specific skilled support work to aid the assessment and rehabilitation of patients.
- To accept patients referred by a physiotherapist, and carry as own patient caseload. Treat patients according to set treatment protocols monitoring patient progression making minor alterations to patient treatment programmes as required.
- Work unsupervised reporting back patient progress and informing physiotherapist of any problems.
- Be responsible for non-professional duties in the provision of physiotherapy services within a designated clinical team.
- Monitor and order stock, mobility aids, supplies for department or team.
Qualifications
GCSE level or equivalent to demonstrate literacy, numerical and communication skills. Or NVQ III in relevant topics.
Experience in healthcare is beneficial, particularly in therapy, but not essential. We would prioritise individuals with good communication, social and motivational skills who are compassionate and can show initiative.
