Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a Thermal Geologist, you have an opportunity to be a key player in a dynamic and collaborative team of professionals focused on optimizing and expanding production in the Thermal Group. Working with a geographic area team of exploration, development, production, and other company professionals, you will use your knowledge to provide integrated geologic interpretations that will support current and future Thermal projects. As member of the Exploration Team, you will use advanced technologies and software to lead mapping, exploration drilling, and development drilling efforts. By joining the Thermal Exploration team with its strong in-house expertise, you will have the opportunity to leverage our many subject matter experts for professional mentorship. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and deadline-driven with a positive attitude.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Work in a team environment to identify SAGD, CSS, and steam flood opportunities in areas with vast growth potential
- Create high quality geologic interpretations utilizing core, image log, and wireline logs
- Work with other Geologists, Geophysicists, Petrophysicists, and Geomodellers to create 3D geomodels to support thermal reservoir simulations
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to plan and execute horizontal well drilling programs
- Integrate geologic data with production and observation well data to optimize Thermal oil wells and identify optimization/workover opportunities
Responsibilities:
- Junior to intermediate experience level with a minimum Bachelor of Science in Geology
- Demonstrated problem-solving, communication, and organization skills
- Understanding of Mannville stratigraphy and fluvial/estuarine depositional environments
- Fluency in software such as AccuMap, Petrel, and Microsoft Office
- Experience or interest in horizontal well planning/drilling and core logging/interpretation
- Registration or eligibility for registration with APEGA
