JOB TITLE

Thermal Power Plant Expert
Reporting To
Director Operations

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Thermal Power Plant Projects.
  • Perform mechanical engineering tasks for feasibility, concept studies, basic and detailed engineering for the assigned projects.
  • Conduct document reviews, Prepares TQs, Technical inputs and man-hour estimates for proposals.
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables are prepared and issued in adherence with project schedule and quality & issued within the budgeted hours.
  • Develop project basis of design, technical queries, and actively participates in the stage of data gathering from Clients.
  • Lead and participate in conceptual discussions at project inception as a member of the project management.
  • Review the design requirements of the project and organizes, plans and leads the mechanical engineering design review.
  • Ensure planned mechanical engineering progress with respect to the engineering deliverables for a project.
  • Prepare/review the details of Mechanical Engineering and Equipment Layout input to the EPC tender documents, including integration with existing assets.
  • Prepare/review the specifications for mechanical discipline general mechanical specifications and all other specification related to the discipline.
  • Carry out site visit to client facilities as required. Perform Site survey and data collection and system adequacy checks.
  • Coordinate the preparation, quality control, internal quality procedures, approval, issue and (where applicable) client approval of mechanical engineering documents and drawings.
  • Manage the interface between Client’s, project team and mechanical engineering team.
  • Manage internal interfaces with Project Managers and with ILF Group entities for the assigned projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and on job training to discipline engineers / junior engineers to ensure schedule and quality adherence of engineering documents.
  • Liaises with the Client and Vendors for project specific needs.
  • Provide Site / Construction support and resolve to site queries.
  • Ensure the Designers are familiarized with the scope of the project in order to prepare all documentation and detail in full compliance with the project requirements.
  • Ensure all mechanical deliverables are being issued fully aligned with all other disciplines like process, electrical, civil and instrumentation.
  • Participate in relevant meetings, such as HAZID/HAZOP, Design Reviews, Model Review.
  • Attend meeting with Clients, Third Parties, etc.
  • Ensure adherence to ILF Group IMS procedures and guidelines at all times,
  • Utilize the core competencies of thermal and fluid sciences, using and advancing analytical and experimental approaches to answer key questions about the performance and architecture of a Thermal Power system or component.
  • Make decisions in the areas of day to day project details, that impact and support the successful progression of projects.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in the industry, particularly in roles focusing on energy conservation, sustainability, or environmental compliance, is highly advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills, proficiency with data analysis tools, and capabilities in project management.
  • Wide knowledge of relevant Thermal Power Plant technologies, Heat recovery system, Steam generation, BOP and design software packages.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines
  • Strong organization skills, methodical, focused and assertive
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong engineering, design and analytical skills.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiar with International codes and standards, and KSA standards

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of professional experience in energy and renewable energy engineering projects in processing facilities design
  • Experience in feasibility studies, conceptual design pre-FEED, FEED and detailed design.
  • Experience in Master Plans, Tender Documents preparation, Detailed Design as a mechanical engineer.
  • Aware of KSA standards and regulations.
  • Experience in KSA Power Plant projects
