Responsibilities:

As a Timber Machinist you will be one of two Machinists on a shift and are an integral part of the team reporting to the Drymill & Kiln Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring the planer is operating efficiently to support production targets and customer orders. You will also operate the “Golden Eye” grading system as well as other machine centres when required becoming multi skilled within the Drymill. There will also be the opportunity to suggest and implement continuous improvement opportunities to the production process.
This is a shift position, working 8-hour shifts (Monday to Friday). You will rotate through 3 different shift patterns, working each pattern for one week. Day shift - 6.00am – 2.00pm. Afternoon shift - 2.00pm – 10.00pm. Night shift - 10.00pm – 6.00am. This role is based at our Whirinaki site, 15 minutes north of Napier.
