Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently seeking a Time and Payroll Analyst to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.
The position will be based in Falconbridge, Ontario.
This is a full-time, permanent, unionized position.
Work location is not accessible by public transportation.
EDUCATION AND SKILLS
Incumbent must possess a minimum three-year College diploma specializing in business. The incumbent must have successfully completed the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) through the Canadian Payroll Association’s Certificate Program. The incumbent must have five years of payroll experience. General knowledge of accounting and mining terminologies required. Must be proficient in the use of personal computers, in particular a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, SAP and SIMS. The incumbent must demonstrate strong analytical problem solving and communication skills. The Time and Payroll Analyst must possess strong public speaking skills. Requires the ability to handle stress and have the ability to work without direct supervision. Incumbents must also respect the confidential nature of this work.
Responsibilities:
Maintains open communications with departments to ensure unionized employees are properly paid in accordance with the collective agreements and Employment Standards. Exports all payroll and time related data from SIMS to SAP. The Time and Payroll Analyst is responsible for the processing of the unionized bi-weekly, nickel and performance bonus off-cycle payrolls. Additionally, this position assists in the preparation of the monthly mines production incentive bonus working with Management, and Supervisors to ensure its completeness and accuracy.
