Description:

The E. Ethel Little Elementary School is seeking a part-time, grant funded Title I Math Tutor for the 2024-2025 school year. North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential.
The Title 1 Elementary Mathematics Tutor works under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent, Title I Data Analyst, and Building Principal to provide support in mathematics for students in grades 1-5. In this role, you will support each student in the acquisition of basic mathematical skills and an understanding of the structure of mathematics, and motivates each student to apply mathematical understanding and skills in the solution of practical problems.
This position is a temporary, part-time, grant funded position of up to 300 hours for the 2024-2025 school year. Exact hours per week and schedule to be determined by the building Principal (no more than 19 hours/week).

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Masters Degree preferred
  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teaching license in Elementary, grades 1-6
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to children and adults
  • Knowledge of the Eureka and I-Ready instructional program and familiarity with current Mathematics frameworks preferred
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
