- Prior experience in a retail, cafe or hospitality environment is preferred, but not required.
- Prior experience as a bartender is an asset, but not required.
- Food Handlers certification is an asset, but not required.
- Smart Serve certification is an asset, but not required.

Tonic Bar operates as a multifunctional concept offering smoothies, coffee, and grab-and-go options, Tonic House, located at The Well, extends the Tonic Bar menu with a dedicated attendant, providing a workspace and serving cocktails and snacks into the night. The Tonic Bar and Tonic House play a crucial role in realizing our mission to elevate fitness and wellness in Canada.
We are seeking a professional and dedicated Part-time Tonic Bar Cafe Team Leader who is passionate about food, health and wellness, with a desire to contribute to the growth and mission of Sweat and Tonic.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in overseeing all daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, scheduling and task delegation.
- Consistently model exceptional leadership, creating a positive work environment, coaching team members, and demonstrating a dedicated and professional approach to team management.
- Foster a positive workplace, encouraging dialogue and communication among team members.
- Ensure all cafe activities adhere to company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Ensure all cocktail bar activities adhere to company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages, tea, and smoothies, following established recipes and quality standards - ensure your team is set up for success every day.
- Prepare and serve food items, including toasts, baked goods, and snacks.
- Demonstrate proficiency with equipment and basic recipes, covering espresso machines, POS systems, fridges, and food prep equipment.
- Ensure impeccable organization and cleanliness throughout the front of house, dining, and kitchen areas.
- Manage inventory, including procurement and tracking of all food, beverage, and other goods for use or sale.
- Process Customer payments efficiently and accurately using our POS system.
- Keep the Cafe impeccably clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
- Stock and replenish supplies, including coffee beans, tea bags, packaging, and other consumables.
- Ensure daily communication, and shift brief between the AM & PM teams.
