Description:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- The candidate shall be an experienced Tooling Engineer with a relevant Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering Qualification; a relevant degree would be advantageous
- The successful candidate shall be computer literate with experience of MS Office and Computer Aided Design, ideally CATIA v5 and AutoDesk / AutoCAD.
- We are looking for someone who can interrogate and understand 2D and 3D design packages
- Candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, working to targets and deadlines and have a proven track record in relationship building, computer literacy, report writing, organisation skills, team working and open two-way communication.
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Although having a background in Aerospace would be preferred, consideration will also be given to candidates with tooling design and transferable skills within a similar industry
- Composite and metallic structures experience would be advantageous

At Prestwick Service Centre we are specialists in the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of aircraft engine nacelles systems and engine components. An opportunity has arisen for a Tooling Design Engineer to work within our Engineering Team. This is a site-based role.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
We require experienced individuals who will contribute to our success, whilst upholding our reputation as a leading provider of quality MRO services with our European and Middle Eastern customers.
The Tooling Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: -
- Design of Tooling and Lifting equipment to support all aspects of the manufacture, repair and design change, to support the overhaul of nacelle systems and other components
- Carry out the calibration of Tools and Lifting equipment using laser tracking equipment
- Ensure all tooling meets requirements of the MRO / OEM / Type Certificate Holder and regulatory agencies
- Relationship building and liaising with various areas of the business and with Tooling subject matter experts based in our California headquarters
- Liaise with manufacturers and co-ordination in the procurement tooling
- Assist in the creation of capital expenditure plans and justifications
- Compliance with all Collins policies and procedures inclusive of EH&S, Code of Ethics, Intellectual Property and Global Trade Compliance requirements
