Toolmaker / Die Technician

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

· Conduct the maintaining, repairing and modifying of press tools and their axillaries to produce quality products
· Using all tool room machinery
· Manufacture tooling and parts for the business if required
· Modify and check fixtures and repair when necessary
· To support and offer technical advice to the press shop and other disciplines within the business.
· Conduct improvements on new tooling
· To assist with performing risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment
· Upkeep 5s within the toolroom
· To assist and support apprentices throughout their apprenticeships
· Conduct maintenance of all machine tools
· FLT and overhead crane movement of press tools
· Work from an organized task daily and have the ability to react to any production emergency
· Health and safety awareness
· Communicate with our partners to support sub-contracting on some work when necessary
· Use company vehicle to deliver parts for sub-contract work
· Work closely with projects team

Reporting to the Toolroom Section Leader, conducting repairs, maintenance, and modification through to the end of production. Machine manufacture any parts which may be required by all areas of the business. Support Press Shop when problems arise with production tooling. Tooling manufacture when possible.
