JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Total Rewards Analyst, you will be responsible for the administration and analysis of competitive total rewards programs that are innovative, compliant, cost effective, and support Extendicare’s Total Rewards strategy. The ideal candidate is analytical and organized with a passion for benefits and compensation data and a commitment to data integrity and improvement.
Acting as a subject matter expert, you add value by applying technical expertise to support the development, documentation, maintenance and improvement of total rewards programs, completing cost modeling, and preparing compensation reports, presentations, and analysis for various stakeholders.
In this role, you will report to the Manager of Total Rewards and join a highly motivated team at an exciting time with the implementation of Workday.
This position will be located at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario and will have flexibility based on our hybrid work model.

Accountabilities:

  • Support the team with administration, research, data analytics and modeling, analyzing internal and external practices to properly document and catalog, audit, further design, maintain, and improve our total rewards programs.
  • In preparation for collective bargaining negotiations, gather and analyze total rewards data, complete cost modeling, and compile reports and documentation.
  • Work with our service providers, facility leaders, and various teams (including Workday, Labour, & HR teams) to implement CBA changes related to total rewards.
  • Assist and provide support in the annual compensation cycle including market research, creating and administering merit increase data files, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the compensation process.
  • Conduct and participate in total rewards surveys that support the ongoing development of our Total Rewards strategy. Analyze results and present data to show overall market trends and competitiveness.
  • Help develop and implement on-going benefit projects.
  • Work closely with the Human Resources and Benefits Operations teams in answering inquiries related to our total rewards program and processes.
  • Provide advice and guidance to leaders, people managers, peers, and HR Business Partners in the interpretation and administration of the organization’s total rewards programs and processes.
  • Act as a liaison for our total rewards programs with our vendors, HR Business Partners, people managers and employees.
  • Provide on-going support to the Workday team to ensure a successful Workday implementation.
  • Participate in projects and provide administrative support to the team, as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration or Commerce with a focus in Finance.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Total Rewards or as an HR Analyst.
  • Professional designation (CCP, CEBS or other equivalent designation in progress or completed) would be considered an asset.
  • Expert level user of Excel (i.e. pivot tables, lookups, advanced formulas) and modeling with large and complex HR/Financial data sets.
  • Excellent financial acumen including a basic understanding of financial terms and concepts.
  • Ability to collect and analyze big data to thoroughly think through problems and situations, assess required next steps, provide recommendations, and input on solutions within deadlines, where applicable.
  • Commitment to data integrity and initiative in independent continuous learning and development.
  • Ability to self-manage and juggle competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to think strategically about the bigger picture, anticipate future needs, and take initiative to increase efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Experience presenting information clearly and effectively both verbally, and in writing.
  • Solid knowledge of HRIS, preferably Workday.
