WHO WE NEED
We are looking for a Total Rewards Manager to elevate and evolve the Total Rewards portfolio, reporting to the Chief People Officer. In this role, you will oversee the planning, design, implementation, and administration of the total rewards programs at Yorkville University and Toronto Film School, including compensation, benefits, wellness, and recognition. Your work will ensure our offerings remain competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with the university’s goals and values. You will collaborate closely with university leadership, the People team, and external vendors to develop and manage comprehensive programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent.
This is a hybrid role, working two days a week in our downtown Toronto office.
YOU HAVE:
- The experience. Whether transitioning from a consulting firm to an in-house role or from a leaner organization, you bring comprehensive experience in total rewards, including compensation, benefits, and wellness programs.
- The project coordination. You have contributed to strategic projects and process planning and played a crucial role in delivering complex, cross-functional projects from end to end. You have excellent organizational skills in a demanding, multi-system, multi-service provider environment.
- The technical skills. You are proficient in MS Excel and can pick up new systems and technologies easily. Ideally, you are familiar with salary benchmarking and job evaluation methodologies.
- The initiative. You are passionate about learning and doing more. You thrive in a collaborative environment while working independently and taking ownership of your deliverables. You are passionate about representing HR, championing people and culture, and inspiring leaders. You are a creative problem solver who can anticipate issues and pivot focus in a fast-paced environment.
- The interpersonal skills. You have professional communication skills and excel at creating internal messaging, reports and other documentation. You prioritize being responsive and open to the needs and questions of peers, faculty and employees seeking information. You have the confidence to work across teams and with managers and leaders. You respect and appreciate diverse experiences and opinions. You are comfortable using a range of communication tools.
