REQUIREMENTS:
- University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
- CHRP, CHRL or CEBS designation is required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in compensation management
- Experience with job evaluation systems and market pricing methodologies
- Experience working in a unionized work environment, with a familiarity of the negotiation process and adhering to collective agreements
- Experience with HR metrics, data analysis, and tools for tracking compensation, benefits, and employee satisfaction is highly valuable
- Knowledge of Canadian Employment Laws, Tax Regulations and benefit plans
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in HRIS and compensation software
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across different levels of the organization
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Total Rewards Specialist is a senior HR role that will play a crucial role in ensuring the organization’s Total Rewards program is competitive, fair, and aligned with strategic goals. This role is integral to attracting, retaining, and motivating top talent through effective total rewards strategy.
MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the development and implementation of the organization’s compensation strategy to ensure competitiveness and alignment with business objectives.
- Conduct regular salary reviews for non-union staff, analyzing market data to ensure competitive compensation.
- Manage the job evaluation process, including the review and classification of new and existing positions.
- Create comprehensive training materials related to compensation practices, policies, and procedures, and deliver training to HR staff, managers, and other stakeholders.
- Lead or support special projects related to total rewards.
- Participate in and manage compensation surveys to collect market data and analyze survey results to benchmark the organization’s compensation practices against industry standards.
- Ensure compensation practices comply with relevant legislation and regulations, and maintain and update the organization’s pay equity plan.
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports on compensation-related metrics and activities, and conduct regular audits of compensation and pay equity data.
- Administer salary structures, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and market conditions, and maintain comprehensive records of salary structures, market data, and job evaluations.
- Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of compensation data
