Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

To ensure the alignment of the Customer IT Strategy with their Business Strategy and Nedbank IT Strategy and to manage sustainable business cluster partner relationships whilst ensuring the optimal value is realised from IT projects and service portfolios so as to enable the realisation of the business cluster strategy. To facilitate the determination of the long-term strategic technology needs (Innovation and Support) of the relevant business cluster partner and develop an overall IT implementation plan for these information needs; systems developments and hardware acquisitions and integrations including mainframe; mini; macro and client/server computing applications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure alignment and achievement of strategy and create a completive advantage by translating the Nedbank and Business Unit strategy into a customised Divisional strategy.
  • Develop and introduce a people strategy that will create a culture that drives the Cluster and Nedbank’s vision and values.
  • Build a high performance team.
  • Ensure that the leadership agenda has been embraced by the division/function.
  • Manage performance of reports and hold them accountable for managing the performance of their reports.
  • Actively build a culture of improvement.
  • Contribute to team effectiveness by participating in the recruitment and selection of senior staff.
  • Contribute to a culture of transformation by participating in Nedbank culture building initiatives, business strategy, and CSI.
  • Optimise performance and motivation. Empower team to make decisions and recommend tailored solutions to Business Unit specific problems.
  • Ensure decisions are made in the best interest of the business.
  • Ensure alignment to governance and compliance requirements through establishing and managing appropriate risk practices.
  • Drive effective and efficient service or product delivery.
  • Take responsibility for the management of applications in their portfolio and the Management of the IT value chain.
  • Ensure a stable environment to the business, Place appropriate emphasis on all matters relating to IT Risk, specifically with respect to the centralisation of IT systems, and confirm adequate control is maintained by each Cluster over decentralised systems.
  • Plan, execute, monitor and control activities over each Cluster’s Disaster Recovery environment.
  • Ensure the achievement of targets by monitoring implemented Divisional EE and Transformation Plan through consultation with HR.
  • Analyse deviations from Divisional EE and Transformation Plan and ensure recommended corrective action is appropriate and implemented.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to build a differentiated culture by analysing relevant surveys and information.
  • Measure the effectiveness of differentiated culture plan through staff and client feedback and ensure corrective action plans are developed and implemented.
  • Leverage opportunities to create a competitive function and a commercially successful function.
  • Ensure projects results are delivered.
  • Establish and drive the business strategy of the function.
  • Ensuring commercial soundness and relevance through end to end Financial Management of the functional area.
  • Ensure project execution of the end to end life cycle of all portfolio programmes and projects relating to the implementation of IT projects according to the project methodology and strategy.
  • Ensure successful project delivery.
  • Enhance the credibility of the function by reviewing project metrics and by meeting with the project managers.
  • Understand and influence the client strategic view in relation to their portfolio and participate in building appropriate rolling three year plan through aligning IT strategy and Client IT requirements with a Nedbank First outlook.
  • Facilitate three-year GT strategic plan through aligning it with each Business Unit including the identification, prioritisation, funding approval and benefit realisatio.
  • Ensure appropriate client collaboration occurs and drive the implementation components of the GT strategy with each client set to obtain traction against the overall Group IT Strategy.
  • Make recommendation to the business on how to align IT Investment to address both strategic demands and operational challenges within the Clusters.
