About the role
The Track Access Desk provides a critical support function to Metro Trains Melbourne. We are currently seeking a Track Access Desk Officer to join the team. The role be responsible for ensuring the TAD provides sufficient 24/7 support to the business and to provide accurate reporting for the TAD functions.
This role is a fixed term role for 12 months working a Monday-Friday roster from 0500-1300 daily based in Docklands.

Role responsibilities

  • Assist with Track Access requests during the morning peak times, ensure requests are documented in the Asset & Resource Management System (ARMS) and confirm that a safe system of work and adequate protection arrangements are in place
  • Approve, deny and cancel Track Access Requests
  • Provide support and advice and be the first point of contact for any track protection or safeworking enquiries for callers to ensure issues are resolved
  • Action all Safeworking resource requests received after hours
  • Act as the main escalation and communication point for the business for any Safeworking related incidents
  • Document and report on all issues and incidents reported to the Track Access Desk
  • Point of escalation for notification of any unsafe conditions on the network
  • Provide administration support to the Track Access Desk team
  • Gather information on track protection practices and ensure any issues are reported to the Track Access Desk Supervisor

Your experience

  • Track Force Protection Coordinator 3.3 or above - mandatory
  • Knowledge of the 1994 Book of Rules & Operating Procedures (Revision 7)
  • Sound knowledge of Safeworking operations, practices and procedures undertaken across the Network
  • Extensive knowledge of MTM Rail Network
  • Substantial experience providing service across multiple business areas in a large organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high volume of critical communications
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office programs
