Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Develop and implement a standardized trade compliance program to ensure all entities comply with customs laws and regulations, as well as for the maintenance of customs special programs (IMMEX, PROSEC, VAT Certification).
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and work instructions of the compliance and operational teams.
  • Coordination of the customs teams for operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Respond to any customs internal or external audit.
  • Develop annual technical training programs for all customs personnel (Operations and Compliance teams).
  • Monitor customs regulatory changes to proactively determine how these may impact Adient’s operations.
  • Provide support in special projects as needed (i.e. changes in or creation of legal entities, new production lines, etc.).
  • Confirm that Adient has the proper documentation to support all its customs operations; specially the legal importation or stay of fixed assets.
  • Build a high-performance team.
  • Continuous oversight of Adient’s compliance with all customs laws and regulations. Establish compliance KPIs and measure them on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor of tariff classifications of imported and exported goods (standardized tariff classifications throughout all Adient entities, as applicable).
  • Work cross-functionally with the operations team as well as other Adient areas such as materials, engineering, procurement, legal, IT, finance, etc.
  • Ensure proper origin qualification analysis are conducted, and that preferential duty rates upon import are correctly applied.
  • Confirm correct customs valuation methodologies are applied depending on each entity’s operation; as well as the correct calculation of added value.
  • Responsible for all trade compliance operations in Mexico.
